Sculpting

Not one to do things by half, I decided to throw myself in the deep end with the challenge of sculpting an Octopus. As the second animal I've ever sculpted (the first being a bear, I know, much easier), its proving to be a challenge but one I am really enjoying!

This is how I started...

A tin foil and wire armature on a sculpted polystyrene base.

But it wasn't long before I bulked it up into this...

And a few evenings later, after some reworking to the head proportions, it became this...

Now when I am happy with the head I'll bake it and move on to the tentacles and blend them in.
